Rockford Christians Stand up For Truth

Defending truthOn Friday, June 8, over 100 Christians stood at the corner of Alpine and State to protest the HHS mandate that would require Christian ministries and institutions to supply abortion-inducing drugs to their employees.

It was good to have at least four members of the clergy and many young people join in this public witness and prayer vigil.

A small group of homosexuals showed up to counter protest.  People wondered why homosexuals were protesting to force Christians to pay for abortions and contraceptives since homosexuals themselves would not need these destructive practices.  But after talking with some of the counter protesters, it was clear they came simply because they hate Christian truth and love concerning life and family issues.

Their presence did not deter from the positive impact this rally had on passers-by and the devout prayers that were offered for our country.

“The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.” Isaiah 2:11

On Saturday June 10, about 25 Rockford area Christians prayed and witnessed outside   the homosexual Rockford Pride Fest.  Christians handed out brochures that shared what the Bible teaches about homosexuality and were even able to engage in conversation with some of the Pride Fest participants.

It was a beautiful sight to see these Christians humbly praying, sharing the truth concerning God’s love, and others holding pro-family signs.

The Pride Feast ran from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm ,and Christians were sharing the Gospel every hour the “pride” fest was taking place.

The “LORD truly was exalted” this day by a small but faithful, loving, and courageous group of Christians.
